The gospel of Luke tells the story of Jesus healing a paralytic. The man couldn’t walk, and had no hope of getting into the house to see Jesus. His four friends carried him on his mat, and although they couldn’t bring him in through the front door due to the crowd in the house, the men didn’t give up! Instead, they brought their friend on the roof, cut open a hole, and lowered him down through the carved space and into the presence of God. We are told that, when Jesus saw their faith, He healed the man! It was the faith of the friends that impressed our Lord. ‍ Those men were determined to not leave their friend behind. It is our desire to create an environment where all men are welcomed, nurtured, and made to feel as an important part of this group. We want to help each other by bringing our brothers into the presence of God.
